Finding her own space by the sea

Room to create: Leanne Addison at her new studio

Nelson artist Leanne Addison has opened a new studio in Haven Rd that will double as a working space and a gallery.

Addison used to own Up the Garden Path – a cafe and gallery in Motueka.

She has been working out of the Leanne Addison Art Studio in Haven Rd for a couple of weeks.

“It’s fantastic to have a bit of space.” She said it was better than painting in her bedroom at home, and she hoped to share the small gallery with others.

“I’m looking for other artists to bring in work.”

Addison describes her work as contemporary and symbolic.

Her paintings are mainly acrylic, and she uses textures, symbols and objects to depict an experience or emotion and tell a story.

The Leanne Addison Art Studio is at 225a Haven Road, Nelson.
