Commissions

Almost all of Leanne’s art is privately commissioned. She paints and sketches to portray an emotion or experience associated with a person.

It’s important to her to get the interpretation accurate, as the piece serves as an everlasting reminder of a place or a situation.

Commissioned Sketches

With sketches, Leanne asks for a clear photo (digital or print). The emphasis is on clarity, as she strives to encapsulate the finest detail within the picture.

Commissioned Paintings

Behind every painting there’s a story. Often there’s a profound experience or life-changing situation in a person’s life that inspires them to have a painting commissioned. She portrays the essence of the story by drawing on symbols, colours, textures and even poetry.

When it comes to finding out what you want, Leanne prefers a personal approach; visiting a person’s home, taking in the colours and styles they like, looking at photos, and talking to them.

Interpretation Of A Story

Woman-Sand-Commission

This piece was created for friends who had travelled around the world.

It integrates symbols that evoked memories of the parts of the world they had been to.

Of the couple, the wife is represented in the shaping of the sand dunes; depicting a naked woman lying on her front. The hands together embody the unity between them in the journey; with sand dripping down to nurture a growing desert flower.

A poem puts it into context.

“To see a world in a grain of sand & heaven in a wildflower
hold infinity in the palm of your hand & eternity in an hour…”
W. Blake
